A generalization of the probability that the commutator of two group elements is equal to a given element
The probability that the commutator of two group elements is equal to a given element has been introduced in literature few years ago. Several authors have investigated this notion with methods of the representation theory and with combinatorial techniques. Here we illustrate that a wider context may be considered and show some structural restrictions on the group.
متن کاملFuzzy subgroups of the direct product of a generalized quaternion group and a cyclic group of any odd order
Bentea and Tu{a}rnu{a}uceanu~(An. c{S}tiinc{t}. Univ. Al. I.Cuza Iac{s}, Ser. Nouv{a}, Mat., {bf 54(1)} (2008), 209-220)proposed the following problem: Find an explicit formula for thenumber of fuzzy subgroups of a finite hamiltonian group of type$Q_8times mathbb{Z}_n$ where $Q_8$ is the quaternion group oforder $8$ and $n$ is an arbitrary odd integer. In this paper weconsider more general grou...
متن کاملshen's conjecture on group with given same order type
for any group $g$, we define an equivalence relation $thicksim$ as below: [forall g, h in g gthicksim h longleftrightarrow |g|=|h|] the set of sizes of equivalence classes with respect to this relation is called the same-order type of $g$ and denote by $alpha{(g)}$. in this paper, we give a partial answer to a conjecture raised by shen. in fact, we show that if $g$ is a nilpote...
متن کاملOn a Certain Lie Algebra Defined by a Finite Group
1. INTRODUCTION. Some years ago W. Plesken told the first author of a simple but interesting construction of a Lie algebra from a finite group. The authors posed themselves the question as to what the structure of this Lie algebra might be. In particular, for which groups does the construction produce a simple Lie algebra? The answer is given in the present paper; it uses some textbook results ...
